In 2025, the celebration of the Jewish New Year — Rosh Hashanah — in Uman took place despite the full-scale war. In late summer, tens of thousands of Hasidic pilgrims from various countries arrived in the city in the Cherkasy region to pray at the grave of Rabbi Nachman, the spiritual founder of the Breslov Hasidic movement.
Despite security threats and the realities of wartime, the pilgrims traditionally gathered for communal prayers, festive meals, and religious rituals. The annual pilgrimage once again became a testament to the resilience of religious tradition even in times of war.
